After obtaining the RANZCR Fellowship in 1976, Peter worked in the USA as Assistant Professor of Radiology, University of Rochester, New York. On returning to Sydney in 1979 he worked for 6 years as a staff specialist at RPAH and RNSH. Over the years he enjoyed many Visiting Professorship appointments, delivered multiple presentations, participated in many grant applications, and published extensively.
In 1984 Peter entered private practice and by the mid 90’s had helped create and grow the PIttwater Radiology Group from 6 to over 40 radiologists and become its Executive Chairman. The Group continued to build via mergers and acquisitions across most of the states, and by 2000 was successfully floated as the MIA Group. Peter went on to become the first CEO and MD of MIA and over the next 3 years saw the company more than double its size by further growth in Australia and the UK.
In 2003 he resigned from MIA to pursue personal interests and return to clinical radiology. At this time he developed a keen interest in teleradiology and developed a special purpose company, DHS, to provide high quality service and fast response reporting capabilities to regional hospitals. Peter has since been reporting for hospitals in Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and our site in Perth HSA.
Peter is currently a principal of DHS and continues to work as one of our practicing clinical radiologists.
